bodleing: Just back from holiday to find out a friend
has been murdered in a most brutal way.
A very gentle and kind man he was, this can
be a cruel world indeed.

Hugz_n_Kissez: Thanx doll...yeah it is...it was a shock cause he never had any health problems...well that he or anyone was aware of and was always active and in good shape his whole life...he just finished lunch...walked up the hall and that was it...and his wife and kids were both there sooooooo it's even harder on all of them....

That must have been terrible for them all - and so young too - in a way, its good that he didnt have to suffer prolonged pain though........ sad flower

Hugz_n_Kissez: So far ya...I went to see my cousin yesterday and it's her I am worried about...the wake and funeral are tomorrow and Friday so those will be very hard days ahead for her and for all of us...We found out he died from a massive heart attack from a clogged artery inside his heart that went undetected for years and it ended up collapsing his heart...there was nothing anyone could have done for him at the time he died... He was only 48 I think...

A tough time all round Hugs, but you will no doubt all help each other through - Im really sad for your loss.........

Im doin my best to be neutral CJ but here are a few of the facts that I have read about that incident;

Just google "the truth about Pearl Harbour" and you come up with lots of information - one I particularly like because it references its sources is; http://www.voicesofunreason.com/essays/thetruthbehindpearlharbor

another one I like is from this site which also has lots of info about the Israel/Gaza conflict;

Ambrose2007: Just got through -37C (-31 F) here in Manitoba, Canada.

Does any other Canadian ever have the impression that weather forecasters in Manitoba are falsely - even insidiously - optimistic in their predictions? It seems like every warming trend they predict never materializes. If I were more cynical, I might suspect that they're trying to prevent a mass southern migration....

I would have migrated long since with temps like that - -10 is pretty record breaking here, there are cars sliding and causing accidents all over the place........ cold wave

JacobGrimm: excellent! just breathe

You know or don't know, that great Bacon saith,
'Fling up a straw, 'twill show the way the wind blows;'
And such a straw, borne on by human breath,
Is Poesy, according as the mind glows;
A paper kite, which flies 'twixt life and death,
A shadow which the onward Soul behind throws:
And mine's a bubble not blown up for praise,
But just to play with, as an infant plays

Yep, the simplicity of children playing - one of mankinds greatest gifts methinkslaugh thumbs up

When my three were little we used to sing quite often and we would do a round of the "row your boat" song - - eack of us starting the song individually on the word 'boat' - if we ever got through it without laughing first we inevitably fell about laughing at the end........ heart wings

Row row row your boat
Gently down the stream
Merrily merrily merrily merrily
Life is but a dream

laugh

JacobGrimm: Believe nothing on the faith of traditions,
even though they have been held in honor
for many generations and in diverse places.
Do not believe a thing because many people speak of it.
Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past.
Do not believe what you yourself have imagined,
persuading yourself that a God inspires you.
Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests.
After examination, believe what you yourself have tested
and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.

Well, that sure deserves a good reply - I hope this serves its purpose but dont know who the author is........

Thanksgiving

O let us give thanks for the glorious spasm
that spurted atoms on an endless quest
for the far edge of everything, let's
praise the ancient heave and buckle,
the burn, blister, and boil
that birthed our blue-green planet,
be grateful for the lucky spark
that seasoned our primal soup,
and honor the ultimate sacrifice
of the creeping pioneers
who dragged us up onto dry land.
Let's be thankful for the heroism
of all those fallen fathers
who bequeathed to us these novelties,
our clever arms and legs,
thankful too for the company
of moles and manatees, sloths and seals,
horses and hedgehogs - and thankful for
the monkeys, gibbons, and gorillas
who once upon a time set off
on gambles of their own, aping our long,
long hunger, vines
choking trees to reach the sun,
predators lurking at water holes.
Now, somewhere out there, the atoms race on,
still searching for the edge of everything,
but here, snug in our tundra and grassland,
our forest and savanna, let us thank
the furry ancestors who brought us
along this way, and now stay at our side
as we press on to some great adventure
just beyond our dreams.

JacobGrimm: oh my .. well lets right the ship ... Through the Looking Glass
and what Alice found there
Lewis Carroll
Child of the pure unclouded brow
And dreaming eyes of wonder!
Though time be fleet, and I and thou
Are half a life asunder,
Thy loving smile will surely hail
The love-gift of a fairy-tale.

I have not seen thy sunny face,
Nor heard thy silver laughter;
No thought of me shall find a place
In thy young life's hearafter --
Enough that now thou wilt not fail
To listen to my fairy-tale.

A tale begun in other days,
When summer suns were glowing --
A simple chime, that served to time
The rhythm of our rowing --
Whose echoes live in memory yet,
Though envious years would say 'forget'.

Come, hearken then, ere voice of dread,
With bitter tidings laden,
Shall summon to unwelcome bed
A melancholy maiden!
We are but older children, dear,
Who fret to find out bedtime near.

Without, the frost, the blinding snow,
The storm-wind's moody madness --
Within, the firelight's ruddy glow
And childhood's nest of gladness.
The magic words shall hold thee fast:
Thou shalt not heed the raving blast.

And though the shadow of a sigh
May tremble through the story,
For 'happy summer days' gone by,
And vanish'd summer glory --
It shall not touch with breath of bale
The pleasance of our fairy-tale.

Oh that was beautiful Jacob teddy bear

I though you may like this........

A BOAT BENEATH A SUNNY SKY

A BOAT beneath a sunny sky,
Lingering onward dreamily
In an evening of July --

Children three that nestle near,
Eager eye and willing ear,
Pleased a simple tale to hear --

Long has paled that sunny sky:
Echoes fade and memories die:
Autumn frosts have slain July.

Still she haunts me, phantomwise,
Alice moving under skies
Never seen by waking eyes.

Children yet, the tale to hear,
Eager eye and willing ear,
Lovingly shall nestle near.

In a Wonderland they lie,
Dreaming as the days go by,
Dreaming as the summers die:

Ever drifting down the stream --
Lingering in the golden dream --
Life, what is it but a dream?
