star76: hi everyone was just thinking to myself .. is it really possible to find "the1" on the net?!.. you hear many stories about it being a bad idea let me know what your thoughts are? is it really possible to find love on the internet?

FWIW - It is certainly possible to find someone with whom one can have a special relationship on the net and even on CS

BUT - If by The 1 you mean *love* -IMHO That really only develops after you decide to meet face to face and actually go through with it and many of both sexes while being full of enthusiasm and bravado in Cyberspace - do not have the courgar of their convictions.

ocean_1: It seem there is no many reader here. Shame on you CS members

Interesting comment - Maybe it is a case of where others, especially many younger people can only use a computer to get their information and have no patience with reading actual books, writing or even art and drawing.

There are also many young people today who leave school and having been through Primary and Secondary education for 10 years leave school at 16 unable to read, write legibly or do basic mathematics.

SAD

After all the dirty linen stuff near Christmas time I do not intend posting much here again but have to agree - Blue is not the right attitude for airing what should be off list

In response to: Can you tell us which book you are reading now and what the name of the author?
Can you also give a summary of what you read so far.?
Cheers,

Christmas present - *Lightning from the Cockpit* by Peter Caygill. Published by Pen & Sword Aviation 2004
He was one of my squadron (74)Pilots when we got the Mk 1's in 1960

Interesting read IMO especially for all who have had any contact with them and enthusiats who went to airshows and saw them and what they can do.

Fiction has never appealed to me apart from some of the works by Dickens.

mike1937: Great stuff Helga

Seriously - I think *you* could be very creative with a potters wheel if you get the right tutition and your own wgheel and furnace.

That investment could even lead to a small cottage industry for you in a niche market. - As a model maker since I was 6 and having done it professionally too, I still love watching the potters skills *throwing* a pot and creating simple yer stylish shapes from just a lump of slip.

Go for it Gal
Cheers
Mike

Woops - Pleas excuse the cock ups on typing - fat fingers
bold words should have been tuition, wheel and yet

Zellarrone1: Anyone considering taking up any new hobbies or pastimes in 2009?

I've decided I'm going to enrol for either Sculpture/Pottery or Yoga on a ten week course, 2 hours a week. All, I need to do is decide which one to choose

One of my all time favourites having played and sung it as a vocal and as an Instrumental, part arranged by me for Vibes, Jazz guitar, Flute, Bass and Drums version.

The Carpenters - For all we know

For All We Know

Love, look at the two of us

Strangers in many ways

We’ve got a lifetime to share

So much to say and as we go on from day to day

I’ll feel you close to me

But time alone will tell

Let’s take a lifetime to say

I knew you well

For only time will tell us so

And love may grow for all we know

Love, look at the two of us

Strangers in many ways

Let’s take a lifetime to say

I know you well

But only time will tell us so

And love may grow for all we know

Cheers to all and again All the breast of duck for 2009

mindfful: wales just went to top of my list of places to visit

You, if you are American may find like a friend of mine and his wife did when they came over three years go that, like many English people, the South Welsh people more friendly towards us and you than is generally the case in the North West and Mid-Wales areas.

Angel_Diva: typing this while sat on me bum from falling off chair coz that was soooo funny

Glad U like Taff - Farting the NA was standard practice in RAF bandrooms on practices, and a requirement in the Fighter Command band - grin Hope this will make U larf too

It's a higher standard than the other *requirement* - Being able to perfectly pitch the first note of wagon train (RAF March Past) and shout gas gas gas after the night before's piss up - We all pissed off out while the pong cleared. devil

The worst offender was a Vahhleys isnt it trumpet/cornet/soprano cornet and flugelhorn player called Taff (Derek) Holvey who was also a member of the Park & Dare colliery band and he could light them grin

Cheers from The Shitehawk
