High heels make the legs look slimmer and longer. It makes muscles pop up, mostly it makes the buttocks rise and firm. It is all a fashion thing and as soon as some one starts wearing poop on top of their head and it becomes fashionable......all will wear crap on their heads. It doesn't mean it is intellegent....just the thing to do to look smart (sharp). Look at them stupid pointed shoes them wear now and look like fools, while the guys lie and say they look good, so they don't lose bone jumping rights. silly! And we are suppose to be smart enough to tell the rest of the world how to think!

because some outfits look better with high heels???? not EVERYTHING has to be sexual, and before anyone asks, i dress for how i am happy with NOT for someone else

My thought is they want to be taller than the male, or close to his height, or the same to males around them. You also have to admit guys, that a woman in high heels is downright sexy. Maybe its just me. Or admit not because I care not.

Out of all the replies, your replies made the most sense. My mother always wore the spiked high heels, a thing since World War II with the beautiful hats, when ladies acted more like ladies. My dad always said it made my mother's legs look longer and beautiful with a dress or skirt, Reallyniceguy hit the nail on the head.
personally, I wore them when going out man hunting, but for the work in the hospital, and at home, it is flats for me. Now they say it throws your pelvis and other body parts out of whack.
Heels, in my opinion are good for when you do not want to hem your pants as I am only 5 ' 1" tall.

My guess would be we wear high heels for the same reason as we have our clothes made in a certain way (rather than wearing potato sacks instead, or going au naturel). I am sure the styles of our clothes in general are FAR from making any sense, too (think g-strings?), and yet we don't just wear furs tied around our waist with a rope? Just my guess.

i very rarely wear them but they do make me look sexier
